Description
- Recognizes human IFN-beta
- IFN-beta (Interferon beta) is a cytokine naturally produced by immune system in response to biological and chemical stimuli
- Signals by binding to heterodimeric Type I IFN receptor composed of IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 chains
- Regulates expression of plethora of genes by means of classical JAK/STAT and other pathways
- IFN-beta shown in clinical trials to have efficacy in multiple sclerosis
- Gene therapy is expected to be used for clinical use in cancer patients
- Signals by binding to heterodimeric Type I IFN receptor composed of IFNAR1 and IFNAR2 chains
Process:
- Antibody specific for IFN-beta pre-coated onto microwells
- IFN-beta protein in samples captured by the coated antibody after incubation
- After extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for human IFN-beta is added to detect captured human IFN-beta protein
- For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
- Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
- Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
